This year will be focused on building our teams, as this is just the beginning of The Heart and Soul Dance Project! We want to raise up a generation of dancers who are talented, genuine, humble, hard working, and hungry to succeed. We are aware that some of our dancers won’t be competition-ready right away, so we will be taking in “Junior Company Members”. These will be dancers who are ALMOST there but might need just a bit more training. These members will still be part of Par La Foi Dance Company, and will still be required to abide by the company contract but will be considered alternates until they are ready.
As a staff, our goal is to provide the highest level of training for your dancer, while creating a welcoming and inspiring environment. We want to provide fun, creative, level-appropriate, new choreography for the dancers. Our teachers will also be responsible for parent communication about upcoming events, skill progression, practicing tips, and incoming information.
As your child is committing to the company, so are you, the parent(s). We do not take for granted the responsibility you take on as well. We appreciate and respect our parents and will always do our best to accommodate and communicate. There are issues, however, that are non-negotiable. These include attendance, attire, and tuition. We need the parents’ support and trust in order to effectively run The Heart and Soul Dance Project. We have put in place a highly trained and competent staff, who are qualified to make decisions pertaining to costumes, choreography, music selection, and training. Please trust our staff to make these decisions.
Company Jewelry/Accessory Fee – $40
All company dancers need company jewelry. We will place an order for all new members. Please tell the office if anyone needs to replace a piece of jewelry.
Company Warm-ups – All company members are required to have matching warm-ups. The total fee is $95 for the warm-ups. Don’t forget to see the front desk for your spelling form.
Company Duffel Bag– Company members can have us order a duffel bag with our logo and their name on it. The fee is $55. Since the bag is not required, we will not order it unless asked.
Company Costumes – All costumes are $125.
Prop Fees – These are one-time fees for the year. They include the materials and the labor for the props. These fees are due August 15th. The following routines will include prop fees:
Hip Hop Production – $10
Jazz Production – $10
Ballet Production – $10
Competition Fees – Competition fees may vary. For example, the cost of a group routine is approximately $35 per routine, per dancer, per competition. There will be an additional $25 teacher expense fee to pay for teachers’ time, hotel, and travel for all conventions and competitions. Parents and dancers are responsible for their own hotel accommodations and travel expenses.
Convention Fees – Conventions require an additional fee for the classes that the dancers will attend. This fee depends on the age of the dancer but ranges from $150-$225.
Local Show Fees – Local shows usually require a small fee of $8 in order to participate.
This fee does not include the cost of tickets. (Tickets range from $5-$10)
Routine Choreography Fees – This is a one-time fee to pay for the group choreography for each routine. The fee is $25 per routine per dancer. (Note: This is not the rate for Solo/Duo/Trio entries.
We are expecting a higher level of self-discipline this year. Prepare to be mentally focused and set aside all personal issues while in the classroom. If students are repeatedly asked to stop talking or disrupting the class, they will be sent out of the classroom. If this behavior continues, they will be asked to leave the company with no refund. Attendance, dress code, and behavior will be strictly monitored.
If you are in the following styles, you must attend the listed technique classes during the fall/spring season.
RUBIES: Jazz/Lyrical Co. – 1 ballet technique classes and 1 Jazz/lyrical class
PEARLS: Ballet Co. – 2 ballet technique hours and 1 Jazz/lyrical class
DIAMONDS: Hip Hop Co. – 1 ballet technique class and 1 hip hop technique class (This can included our Tumble for dance class)
Attending all technique and company classes on time is mandatory. If you must miss technique classes, you need to call and/or email the studio beforehand and make up the classes as soon as possible. Ballet is the base for all of the students’ technical dancing. These classes need to be attended regularly to aide in our dancer’s progression. If missing classes or being tardy becomes a problem, your dancer could be pulled from performances and will be in jeopardy of losing his or her place on the competition team.
All dancers need to adhere to the studio’s dress code, but we hold our company dancers to an even higher standard. Company dancers need to always look neat and set a good example for the rest of the students.
Ballet: Black leotard, pink tights, ballet shoes, hair pulled back tightly into a bun.
Jazz: Black leotard, pink tights, (black shorts optional), hair pulled back.
Hip Hop: Black leotard, black pants or shorts, studio sneakers (only worn in the studio), hair pulled back.
